30 May Windu in the Catalan Musical Magazine

Windu was interviewed in the 4 Bands section in issue 385 of the Catalan Musical Magazine to talk about music quartets, beyond string quartets.

This is the interview:

When we created Windu in 2016, we wanted to make a fresh and different proposal within the world of classical music: to generate shows that merged music with the stage and, above all, that broke with the typical format of an auditorium concert: lecterns and shirt with jacket. In our productions there is dramaturgy, set design, costume design, lights, choreography, and we play from memory. We are crazy like that!

Making chamber music with four instruments from the same family, such as the recorders, is very special. Depending on the historical period we play, the flute models change: the instruments are different, but so is the technique and the sound of the quartet also changes. We experience the best moments live, in concerts. We establish a very intense connection between us, also with the technician, who is with us on stage. Doing it from memory is a risk, but it also generates brutal trust between us. And if we have to talk about some less rewarding part, it would be everything related to the management of the group. A task that is not at all musical but necessary.
